Custom Towel Sizes

Finished dimensions influence handling, artwork scale, folded presentation, and package fit.

  • 30 × 30, 35 × 75, 70 × 140, and 80 × 160 cm
  • Custom width × length
  • Finished size and tolerance confirmed on the sample

Common and Custom Towel Sizes

These common dimensions provide a starting point; the approved specification is the finished size of the actual towel.

  • 30 × 30 cm — compact format
  • 35 × 75 cm — medium utility format
  • 70 × 140 or 80 × 160 cm — larger formats
  • Custom finished width × length

The Finished Size Specification

The right dimensions depend on the towel type, expected handling, and the details that must fit on the finished piece.

Starting Sizes by Towel Type

The formats below show typical starting options, while the final width and length remain project-specific.

A Complete Dimension Specification

Terms such as “standard” or “regular” leave room for interpretation. A production-ready size specification includes:

  • Finished width × length and measurement unit
  • Width direction, length direction, and orientation
  • Shape, measurement points, and measurement state
  • Numeric tolerance or an approved dimensioned drawing

Size, Material, and GSM Work Together

GSM describes fabric weight per square metre, while finished dimensions affect total towel weight and handling.

  • GSM: fabric weight per square metre
  • Finished area: a key factor in total towel weight
  • Connected details: artwork scale, fold, and package fit
  • Sample reference: material, GSM, and finished size evaluated together

Material and construction options are described on the custom materials page.

Tolerance and Washing State

There is no single tolerance or shrinkage rate for every towel construction.

  • Nominal finished dimensions
  • Agreed numeric tolerance
  • Before-wash or after-wash measurement
  • One measurement method for the sample and production

Size Effects Beyond the Towel

A change to finished width or length carries through to artwork placement, folded presentation, and packaging.

01

Artwork Placement

Logo size, direction, measured position, and distance from the edge are tied to the approved finished dimensions. Method-specific guidance is available on the embroidery page and printed towels page.

02

Fold and Packaging

Folded dimensions determine how much artwork remains visible and whether labels and units fit the intended pack. Packaging requirements are covered on the custom packaging page.

03

Final Size Approval

The complete sample provides one reference for finished size, tolerance, GSM, washing state, artwork, fold, and packaging.

Custom Towel Sizes FAQ

WiseTowel’s common starting sizes are 30 × 30 cm, 35 × 75 cm, 70 × 140 cm, and 80 × 160 cm. Custom finished dimensions are also available for bath, beach, hand, face, hotel, spa, gym, golf, kitchen, and microfiber towels. These sizes are starting points rather than universal standards, so the finished width × length must be confirmed for each order.
Provide the finished width × length, measurement unit, shape, orientation, measurement points, measurement state, and an agreed numeric tolerance. Include a dimensioned drawing or approved reference sample when the shape, orientation, or component placement could be interpreted in different ways.
That depends on the product and buyer requirement. The specification should state whether dimensions are measured before washing, after an agreed wash test, or in both conditions. The wash procedure, shrinkage requirement, and measurement method should be consistent for sample approval and production inspection.
GSM measures fabric weight per square metre, while the finished dimensions determine the towel’s total area. Together with the material and construction, they affect total weight, handling, absorbency, drying, folding, storage, and package fit. Material, GSM, construction, and finished size should therefore be approved on the same physical sample.
Yes. A size change can affect logo scale, pattern coverage, measured placement, label position, folded dimensions, visible artwork, quantity per pack, and package fit. These details should be reviewed again on the complete sample whenever the towel dimensions or folding method change.
WiseTowel’s MOQ normally starts from 100 pieces per design. Sample development normally takes 7–9 days after the size and production method are confirmed, while bulk production normally takes 18–30 days after sample approval. Final requirements and timing depend on the dimensions, material, branding process, quantity, testing, and packaging.
